On June 27, 2021, the Indian Diaspora Council International (IDC) announced at the Pandit Ramlall Way unveiling ceremony the establishment of IDC’s Pandit Ramlall Memorial Award.
The objectives are: To recognize those who promote and preserve culture and religion, and engage in community service locally and internationally as exemplified by the life and legacy of Pandit Ramlall.
Selection will be based solely on merit and in accordance with IDC published criteria.
The awards will be organized and managed by IDC with a selection committee comprising IDC and other suitably qualified persons.
The Pandit Ramlall Memorial Award would be an annual event held on a date to coincide with Pandit Ramlall’s birthday (February 28), Pandit Ramlall Way Street naming (June 27) or a major calendar event such as Diwali, Holi, or the Gandhi Peace March.
A detailed criteria will be developed and announced soon.
